Scott McBride, an attorney since 1994, began practicing law as trial counsel with the Missouri State Public Defender's Office in Rolla, Missouri. From 1994 through 1997 he represented many individuals charged with a variety of offenses, from misdemeanors to major felonies, and developed significant trial skills. Following his tenure as trial counsel in Rolla, he joined the Capital Litigation Unit in Columbia, Missouri. There he tried first-degree murder cases throughout Missouri. This position afforded him the opportunity to hone his investigative and trial skills and develop his knowledge in the area of criminal forensics, including DNA. In 2001 Mr. McBride left the public sector for private practice. In private practice he continued to represent individuals charged with criminal offenses in state and federal court. He also represented clients in civil matters, including personal injury and medical malpractice. At Thomas, Birdsong & Mills, P.C., Mr. McBride practices in the area of criminal defense, personal injury litigation and defense, and other civil matters.
